Qiviut Inc.

Qiviut Inc., a 100% Inuvialuit-owned small business based in Nisku, Alberta, Canada, was founded by siblings Tanis Simpson and Bradley Carpenter, hailing from Sachs Harbour, Northwest Territories. Raised with qiviut fibre as a staple for warmth by their parents and grandparents, Bradley's observation of muskox hides being exported sparked the idea to establish their own qiviut company. Recognizing the value of muskoxen qiviut in global fibre and textile markets, they seized the opportunity to fill a gap in the industry. In 2019, they acquired vintage fibre mill machines from Alaska and launched Qiviut Inc. in Alberta, where they now reside. With Tanis as the driving force and the addition of experienced mill manager Robby Inuktalik from Ulukhaktok, NWT, Qiviut Inc. stands as a family-run enterprise proudly owned and operated by the Inuit community.
